I am beyond furious. The article that I've posted below, speaks of a tourist in Norway who goes to the mountains just north of the Artic Circle to view the eclipse and was attacked by a polar bear. The tourist did not succumb to his injuries, but for good measure the authorities hunted down and killed this "rogue" bear.
A few notes here:
1. Tourists were given a stern talking to about camping outside in the wilds of the Artic.
2. Polar bears are like any other animal that does not live in a zoo.....WILD.
3. The bear was scared off by gunshots and did not return.
The biggest problem I have hear is that there aren't many polar bears in the world. It's exciting enough to see one in the wild, in it's element. When you enter THEIR element take caution. I think it's completely wrong of authorities to kill an innocent animal. This wasn't a rogue bear. This was a bear simply hunting or even protecting it's territory. I want to see less animals in zoo's and more in the wild. This is their planet too!! We need to co-exist together and protect them not kill them...unless it's for survival...but if you're doing that then you better be that back woodsman, grungy, eat what you only kill type.
