So this past weekend we spent some of our time watching Disney movies. I tell you sitting down and watching movies you haven't seen in 15-20 years is just so wonderful.
We did manage to get in two classics, 101 Dalmations and Cinderella. I love those movies, but I think my all time favorite movies are from Disney's Renaissance era (89-99). During this decade, the studio produced and released 10 animated films: The Little Mermaid (1989), The Rescuers Down Under (1990), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), The Lion King (1994), Pocahontas (1995), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), Hercules (1997), Mulan (1998), and Tarzan (1999).
I think tonight, we'll watch The Rescuers Down Under, Mulan, and Hercules.
A fun note, the first Disney movie I saw in theaters was The Little Mermaid. The sea witch scared me, but I recall from stories my Aunt Mimi told me, that I loved all the colors and singing. I do look forward to re-watching these movies with my own children.
